Fantastic Lady II
Virgin Island Sailing Adventure

We have been sailing in the Virgin Islands since about 1980 and have found this to be something almost everybody can enjoy. You do not need sailing experience, just the desire to have a good time and the willingness to assist with the cruise. Each trip is different, but the following is a sample of what the adventure is like. "Fantastic Lady II", a Leopard 45' Catamaran is our boat. Our cruising grounds are the British Virgin Islands out of Nanny Cay on Tortola. To join us, fly into Tortola, Beef Island (EIS) in the British Virgin Islands. Take a taxi to North/South Charter Company at Inner Harbor Marina in Road Town. Cost is $15.00 each way per person.

1st Day
: 11:00 a.m. meet at the North/South Charter Company office at Inner Harbor Marina in Tortola. Depart at 12:00 p.m. for a short sail to Peter Island. Here we anchor in one of several beautiful bays. We have seen many rays here and often we are the only boat at anchor. Now for a relaxing eventful evening and a steak dinner.

2nd Day: An early start will get us to the Baths, a geologic wonder on the south end of Virgin Gorda, for excellent snorkeling. You can also explore the caves and caverns ashore, or spend some time at Devil's Bay. Now we sail to the Bitter End yacht club where we can take advantage of the resort's amenities or use the dinghy to snorkel the reef. Here we have a good chance to see conchs and good size rays. The resort has a lovely dining room overlooking North Gorda Sound.

3rd Day: Today is a run to Cane Garden Bay or Jost Van Dyke. Along the way we can stop and snorkel at Mt. Point, the Dogs, or Monkey Point. At Cane Garden Bay we can listen to Quito sing ballads or listen to the steel band at Stanley's.

4th Day: A short sail to Green Cay or Sandy Cay for beautiful scenery and wonderful snorkeling. It's just like a visit to Gilligan's Island! This evening we will anchor off of Norman Island, the "Treasure Island" of Robert Louis Stevenson's story.

5th Day: This morning is a good time to snorkel at the Caves and literally swim with the fish in crystal-clear water. On to "The Indians", one of the best snorkel spots in the BVI. Snorkel here or comb the beach on Pelican Island. Then to Little Harbor on Peter Island for our last night.

6th Day: We depart early and plan to arrive back at the marina about 8:30 a.m.

This is a sample, and actual sites visited are at Skipper's discretion.

Plan to pay for one dinner ashore (about $50.00), your beverage order, and a $40.00 boat fee, paid to the Skipper at departure.

There is a $20.00 departure fee payable at the airport.
